Blog Writing: Describing a Local Food

Reflections:
Today, I was a little taken aback by the sentence structure. I wrote in the previous blog entry that I was surprised by how similar the two languages were in there cores, and while I still stand by that, I find that the more we delve into descriptors, the more my brain tries to reject the structure of what I am aiming for. I feel like it is like this because I naturally want to stray from what we do in class (I want to write like I speak, and I am just not at that level yet) and mess around to try and find my own voice in Japanese. I'm sure that with trial and error and practice, it will come with time, but as an impatient person, it is hard for me to overcome right now.
As far as what feels different when writing, it is simply the constant need to figure what verb conjugation is appropriate for which verbs and moving between the formalities of speech. Unlike the direct comparisons I could make with email writing, I don't have experience writing blogs, especially with food, so this exercise was mostly just deeper dive into adjectives!

Great observations. and this is a wonderful blog post too! Yes there is a fine line for writing. Is this formal/informal ? Is it for In-group/Out-group people? I like to think of myself as the center of a sphere then decided how far from center and how far above or below me the person/situation is. That helps me determine the style I want to write in.
